About US
As leaders in the wastewater industry, Ironhouse protects the public safety of more than 47,000 residents and businesses in the City of Oakley and unincorporated Bethel Island. We were established in 1945 to safeguard our local natural resources and have been providing a valuable public service ever since. The District maintains more than 15,000 connections, an advanced water recycling facility, and Jersey Island.

Water Recycling Facility
Handling 4.3 millions of gallons of water a day is tough...but this state-of-the-art facility is equipped for the task. On the surface, Ironhouse's state-of-the-art Water Recycling Facility looks like a simple collection of buildings and structures, but hidden behind these walls is a complex of piping and processes designed to turn the wastewater our communities generate into a product that is safe to return to the environment and safe to reuse for irrigation.
