Ironhouse Sanitary District (ISD, District) is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced firms to provide professional services to prepare a Biosolids Master Plan for its Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). The District is currently permitted to land apply biosolids from its WRF, and potentially Class B biosolids from other Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs), on farm fields located on the District-owned Jersey Island. To accomplish this objective, new solids treatment and storage facilities will be required. While this is a viable option, the District is open to other alternatives for biosolids management. The District currently has adequate facilities for dewatering of biosolids and space has been identified for expansion of these facilities in the future. Therefore, the goal of the Biosolids Master Plan is to identify the preferred strategy for treatment and storage of the District’s biosolids.
