Ironhouse Sanitary District (ISD) is interested in enhancing the financial performance of Jersey Island. The purpose of this RFP is to identify a qualified Lessee to lease and maintain approximately 532 acres of farm land owned by ISD (“Leased Premises”). ISD currently farms and maintains this property with ISD staff. The Leased Premises consists of two parcels, a Jersey Island Farming Parcel and a Mainland Farming Parcel and certain improvements described more fully in this RFP. The Jersey Island Farming Parcel consists of approximately 344 acres of irrigated land. The Mainland Farming Parcel consists of approximately 188 acres of unirrigated land. If a preferred Lessee is identified through this RFP process and approved by the ISD Board, it is anticipated that the ISD Board would direct staff to execute a Lease Agreement with the preferred Lessee. After execution of the Lease Agreement, the Lessee would begin working with ISD staff during a transition period. It is anticipated the commencement date of the Lease Agreement would be November 1, 2022.
