Public Outreach and Education

About the Department

The Outreach Committee promotes the mission, values, goals, and pollution prevention objectives of the Ironhouse Sanitary District. The committee also hosts events, tours and information tables at area events to communicate directly with district customers about the workings of ISD's facilities and programs.

The committee is responsible for publication of the Ironhouse Insider newsletter, which is distributed to postal customers within the district three times a year.

Pollution Prevention Education

The district's Pollution Prevention or P2 Education program distributes information on how Ironhouse Sanitary District works to protect our environment and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, as well as what you can do to help.

Topics of discussion include:
• ISD's Residential Recycled Water Fill Station
• How to keep your drains free of harmful clogs
• Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) recycling
• Don't Flush Wipes
• Recycling household hazardous waste
