Wastewater treatment plant expansion project update
ISD is in the process of building a new wastewater treatment plant to enable the district to meet capacity demands in our growing community. Ground was broken April 22, 2009, with construction anticipated to be complete in October 2011.

Final Connection at Jersey Island.

Construction Manager’s Summary 

1.    Schedule

The project is on schedule for substantial completion within the contract time.  Startup and testing of the UV system continues to be on the critical path.  The supplier is working to correct their program to allow for final testing.

2.     Work Progress

Site Piping/Electrical

Site piping and electrical is completed.  The final pipe connection at Jersey Island was completed.  Minor punchlist items remain.

Influent Pump Station

Work continues on punchlist items.

Headworks

Work continues on punchlist items.  The capacity testing of the drum screens remains outstanding.

Anoxic/Aeration Basins

The system is in operation and work continues on punchlist items and tuning the system. 

MBR and Backpulse Tank

The system is in operation and work continues on punchlist items and tuning the system.

Chemical/Blower Building

The blowers are in operation.  A final report from the manufacturer related to the previous blower issues. 

Solids Handling Building

Tuning and testing of the belt press continues. Punchlist work began.

UV/Effluent Pump Station

Coliform testing was completed and programming continued on the UV system. The Effluent Pump Station will be tested once the UV system is operational.

3.  Contract Changes

Two contract change order was issued in September for a credit of $22,247.

4.  Testing

No offsite testing this month.

5.  Anticipated Work for Next Month

The project will be substantially completed, the UV system will be tested out and the plant will discharge to the river. The Grand Opening is scheduled for October 15, 2011.
